Hello guys! How are you doing? Guess what today is? It’s my birthday! 🎊 And I’m super excited about it.  So, to spice things up I’m going to be sharing an evergreen beauty secret I learned exactly 6 years ago.

On that day, in 2011 I first learned about green tea. A naturalist friend in church enlightened me on its amazing benefits and I have brewed green tea and applied it topically ever since to maintain my overall health.

Tea Plant (Camellia sinensis)

Green tea is obtained from the Tea plant Camellia sinensis, grown mainly for its fresh leaves. It contains caffeine and other natural chemicals namely; Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), flavonoids, tannins, polyphenols, theobromine, gallic acid, boheic acids, polyphenols, and anthocyanins. These natural chemicals give green tea its medicinal value.

Green tea bags

Recent studies show that green tea contains antioxidants / antiaging benefits, reduces body fat and lower cholesterol levels.  According to a November 2013  Mayo Clinic Health Letter, green tea can also lower the risk of certain cancers. So, consuming green tea daily will improve your overall health, burn excess fat and reverse premature aging.

So, I wholeheartedly recommend natural skincare products with green tea, if you want younger looking and beautiful skin.

    1. Black tea is different from green tea. Although they are both from the Tea plant, the way black tea is made strips it of certain phytochemicals which are intact in green tea. So green tea is better.

  1. Well i was so enlightened reading this post. I even found out that Epigallocatechin gallate helps inhibit dihydrotestosterone. Thanks a lot for this wonderful post. Cheers
